La Terrasse is a real French restaurant run by a French owner and a French chef which can compete in the top league of French restaurants in Chiang Mai, such as Le Crystal and Le Coq d'Or, yet at much more affordable prices.
In the past La Terrasse was located in a quiet soi in the middle of Loi Kroh, but the new location just around the corner from Loi Kroh and the moat is much better. A private entrance, little garden area, and a beautiful house with a good ambiance.
Most of the local staff are fairly trained although not top, but it's the food that counts most and overall all dishes here are pretty good.
The menu has various items, mainly French or western.
If you don't like duck fat, ask for your potatoes to be fried in olive oil because a specialty of the house is to use duck fat.
This is a good place to enjoy a peaceful dinner with friends or celebrate something.
