With all the regular massage shops spread out all over town, it's hard in Chiang Mai not to stumble over them, but when it comes to ordering a satisfying massage in the comfort of your own room, that's a completely different story, especially if you want a happy ending massage at home or more.
What stops you from booking an outcall massage to your room?
1. the comfort of your own room
The most obvious reason to have an outcall massage in your own room (hotel, condo, house or serviced apartment) is when you've had a busy day and don't bother to go out anymore. You let the girl do the traveling job and pay a bit more for that.
Personally I prefer to frequent a shop, because in times of covid we're already so home-bound, but some people are afraid of contamination in a shop (unclean pillow cover or something), which should not be an important factor if you and the shop take proper measures.
2. the girls feel more free to offer additional services
Probably the best reason to have an outcall massage is because once the girl has left the her shop, everything that happens between you and her is entirely up to you two. So while most happy ending massage shops officially don't allow sex within their premises, nobody will ever knows what happens behind the closed doors of your own house (What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas). Of course it entirely depends on the girl if she accepts your offer for something more, but most do (although not always full service). If she accepts 'full service' (sex), it could also be more comfortably to have that in your own room rather than in a narrow massage room where you have to be careful about making too much noise.
If you order from certain outcall massage services listed below, you can kind of guess from the pictures which girl will be okay with 'full service' and which one won't.

3. the privacy factor
Another, minor reason to take an outcall could be that you don't want to be seen entering a place-of-ill-repute. It happened to me a few times, that I met a (business) contact just when I entered or left a shop known for its special services and that can be a bit awkward. You both smile, both knowing something about each other that you prefer not to talk about. In general, this doesn't happen so often, though, because most customers don't hang out in the lobby before or after the massage.

A major con to not have an outcall massage is of course when you have lived in your building for a long time, everybody knows you there and there is some kind of key card security system that requires you to go down to let your guest in. It can be rather awkward to be seen with a young girl entering your building when the cleaners and the security guard are all watching you. Guaranteed that they'll gossip about it behind your back, you'll lose your 'name' of being a decent guy (for what that's worth) and the cleaners will be grumpy next time they clean your room.
Now you could solve that by asking the girl to come to a love hotel, but then besides paying her more to travel, you will also pay more for the room and usually the atmosphere of the love hotels is much worse than those of massage shops.
So the privacy factor can be both a pro and a con, it depends on your personal living situation.
2. the girl doesn't look as on the picture & wasting time
The biggest disadvantage of ordering outcalls is that the girl showing up at your door step is much less pretty than the one you saw on the picture and then it's too late to refuse service or switch. Had you walked in the shop providing the girls, you could have watched them queue up in real and you wouldn't have been disappointed with the looks you selected. Besides that, in some shops not all of the girls want to do outcall, so if you would choose in-house massage you'd have a greater selection of girls to choose from in the end.
Finally, a major drawback of outcall massages is the punctuality of the girls coming to your place. Some agents arrange that the girl comes well in time, others don't and then you'll be wasting a typical 20 min waiting for her.
3. you miss out on girls and packages
Finally, if you only have outcall massages, you would miss out on some girls who only massage in-house. Often, the newer or 'purer' girls don't dare to leave the shop, it takes them time to get used to the idea of visiting a guy alone in a room (in Thai culture, that's a big step). Only after they have seen their colleagues going and coming back many times, may these girls feel more confident to try an outcall. But some never do.
Also, some massage packages are simply not possible or convenient in room. Think about a body scrub with water and salt, but also about more experimental packages that need certain equipment or a special ambiance in the room that the shop has created.

There are some features of the outcall massage market that are useful and interesting to know.
1. Two groups of outcall massage service providers
First of all, there are 2 groups of outcall massage service providers:
The first group is basically an agent sitting at a desk connecting customers to freelancers with a smartphone. He, or usually she, finds freelancers and puts the info out on the internet, then makes the appointments. Sometimes, the freelancers have never physically met the agent, everything is over the smartphone. So there is no proper massage training, no face-to-face, only the system of bookings and feedback of customers to guide and improve the process.
Some of these agents are good enough, they can source nice girls and send them to the location in time, and others may be lousy, they don't care as long as the customer pays the money. It can be hit-and-miss.
The second group are shops that have girls in-house, so they are able to train and monitor them much closer (but not all do). Some in this group may also add freelancers that don't work in-house.
If you want to be sure of a certain quality standard, your best chances are with the second group, because of the training and closer monitoring that the shops are able to do.
2. Freelancers may work everywhere
If you would contact all of the shops or agents below, you would notice that some of the girls work for more than one agent/shop. These are freelancers (หมอวิ่ง, 'moh wing') who go with whoever connects them with customers. Some agents/shops accept that, others don't.
If you choose a freelancer who works for many agents, she most likely just follows her own way, there is no quality standard, she won't be able to remember what makes the offer of one agent different from the other.
Freelancers often work for more than one agent. This indicates that they usually don't follow a certain quality standard for massage, but instead often they are in for 'full service'.
3. Not many body-to-body massage parlours
Most of the nearly 20 body-to-body massage parlours in and around town refrain from offering their girls for outcall session. This is partly because the girls feel uncomfortable with this type of service, partly because some of guidelines by law enforcement officers and for the remainder because they are simply not organised enough to explore this kind of market.
If you do want to enjoy a body-to-body massage 'n more in your hotel room, it's best to go with the better organized agents such as Home Alone Outcall (see below).
4. Location
Finally, as for the location of massage you can normally choose anything: your hotel room, condominium, apartment, house or a love hotel, but now and then there are some providers that do not accept a love hotel. And surely, if your location is too far from town, most of them won't be willing to travel real far, like in Maerim or in Hang Dong.
Here's an overview of the most interesting outcall massage services for male customers in Chiang Mai (in my order of preference).
Home Alone is a smart agent that offers three groups of girls:
GROUP 1. In-house girls tend to have better skills and experience, this is because they are trained by one of the partner shops and can be monitored more closely. At the same time, most in-house girls don't like to go full-service so the focus here is on a sensual massage plus extras that you may negotiate with the girl but don't expect full service.
GROUP 2. Freelancers enlarge the offer, you can pick more cute girls, but in general the general and sensual massage skills are less good and these girls aim more for extra options, often including full service.
GROUP 3. An increasingly larger group of body-to-body massage girls realize that they can get good customers by offering outcall services through Home Alone. Don't expect any massage skills from these girls, the treatment will be a (short) body to body massage, usually with oil instead of nuru gel, because nuru gel is heavier to carry around and actually doesn't slide as well as oil. Then the treatment usually continues with full service. All of these girls are working at body-to-body massage parlours, who are responsible for their training and performance, but Home Alone does monitor their performance for outcall by customer feedback.
The big plus about using Home Alone is ease of comfort: by one request, you'll get a large supply of available girls in your smartphone for any type of request, you just pick and go.

This is a local business mostly known to Thai customers. The agent has a little shop in the Old Town but she doesn't use that for these bookings so it's outcall massage only. The shop claims to provide 24 hours service, I haven't tested her response time at say 03:00am but for sure you'll get fewer girls willing to get up and make the drive.
There are 2 groups of staff: 1. old ladies who massage well 2. cute girls who do more sexual things.

Compared to some of its peers, CM Massage is quite well organised with an active and good manager who communicates clearly (in Thai) makes sure that staff arrive at your door in time, usually even too early. That is such a relief to the common practise by sideline girls or some other freelance outcall massage services in Chiang Mai, where it's typical that the girls arrives 20-30 minutes late, leaving you waiting at the love hotel or at home annoyed and not feeling like a customer.
What I love about this agent is that she asks for your phone number and confirms the booking accurately and that the girl then calls you before the time of booking to tell you that she's arrived.

There are about 10 girls or so in the erotic category and most of them are somewhat older, around 30 or 30+.
As for the menu, NIDA only works with packages of 1 hr 40 min or 2 hours and that's excluding the happy ending, so if you add up all you'll end up at at least THB 1,500 which is not so cheap (albeit a somewhat longer session).

Aloha Massage is a Chinese Thai run business that prices itself a bit higher for so-called exquisite HJ's that are basically rather robotically performed steps by the Chinese owner. Nevertheless, there are some nice and cute girls here, about 4 of them provide outcall. Some of Aloha's staff also work for other businesses, suggesting a lack of loyalty or customers and that the shop identity and training don't really matter.
Prices for outcall by Aloha are rather expensive: the business standard adds 500-600 baht for travelling even if your hotel is rather near and the only packages you can select are the so-called Aloha A and Aloha B packages. This will come down to THB 1,600 for Aloha A (70min) and THB 2,200 for Aloha B (90min) package, so that's far more expensive than the leading outcall massage providers in town (Home Alone offers 90min happy ending massage for THB 1,300, which is almost half the price!).

Anime Massage has been in town for quite a few years, it's probably the oldest business in this list. It's a steady and reliable business with fairly good management, but unfortunately without any innovation and without any training for staff. The outcall girls that Anime provides, are mostly different from the in-house group. Most of the in-house girls don't do outcall, so if you really like a stunner in this business, you got to visit her at the shop. Nowadays the outcall group is not so big anymore, only 1-3 5 staff because most of the girls are scared to go to a customer's room. Generally the staff that are willing to enter your door are less pretty than those in the shop, but perhaps focusing somewhat more on skills.

Linda is responsive but not complete in her bookings (does not confirm the package) and the girls typically arrive 20-30min late. There is no physical shop, only outcall massage service and Linda herself also does massage. When Linda is out of town, services seem to die out too, so this is a less steady business than its peers.

Daracha massage is a regular massage shop in the Old Town that advertises it's outcall massage services under the name of Home Massage. This massage shop poses itself as a real spa and charges higher prices but in fact the quality of the massage and facilities don't justify that. For outcall, there are some 3-4 masseuses available. The price of an outcall starts at THB 1,500 minimum for a 2 hour aroma oil massage, so that's a bit steep also considering that a happy ending is not included and not guaranteed.
Jenie is another solo-operator in the world of outcall, only in Lamphun area for those who are located there. Jenny is experienced, well in her late thirties and has a group of loyal customers.
If you're interested in a solid outcall massage without happy ending or any erotic services, one of the best companies in Chiang Mai and other parts of Thailand is Rlax.me: qualified, well-trained therapists with equipment right at your doorstep at reasonable prices. So don't expect young, pretty girls to give you relaxing and entertaining services, these are older and skillful therapists who only massage.
When you book an outcall massage, realize that the girl makes an effort to come all the way to your doorstep. For some girls, psychologically, this is already a big step. Most Thai girls wouldn't feel safe to come to a guy's room alone.
So respect her for doing it.
Now she expects you to treat her like a gentleman. It's perfectly okay to discuss 'extra options' with the girl, but if she says no, it's a NO. Don't harras the girl, don't hold her against her will, don't try to kiss her if she doesn't want, don't rape her. A massage girl's job is to massage, sex is not her job although some may be willing to. If you want to be sure to have sex with the girl, you better book a sideline girl, her first job is to have sex with you, she won't massage you.
Most sideline girls won't come to your room, they prefer the love hotel as a place where they feel safe. So for a massage girl to come to your room, it's already a big step. To discuss sex is okay, but don't push her.
The agent or shop knows where she is and if you cross the line you can get into some trouble. You don't want the police at your door, even though it may be her word against yours.
What's more, if you harrass the girl, she'll tell her colleagues and the shop will tell other shops so your name will be wasted amongst many shops and girls.
Realize that not all shops will send you several or full face full body pictures of the girls, so in reality the girl may look different than on a picture when she arrives. Just go with and book another girl next time is the best approach. If you would pay her for the transport fee and send her back, chances are that the agent will not help you in the future.
