Thai and Indian vegetarian (and non-vegetarian)
FOOD REVIEW BY MICHAEL
Those seeking a Lanna-style atmopshere and appreciating the art of presentation will enjoy dining at The Whole Earth, in a beautiful traditional Lanna house located just off the Nightbazar.
Sit in the garden or on the first floor of the wooden house, along the balustrade and feel all the teak wood surrounding you.
The Whole Earth is a somewhat 'organic' name for a restaurant serving MSG-free Thai food (but not organic) as well as Indian food.
Combining two distinctly different kitchens is always a challenge and few places manage to do well on both. In the Whole Earth, just stick with the Thai kitchen, which has a fairly large menu anyway.
Although the place is well managed and can offer such nice premises, the food is just above average, there are other places where the Thai food is (much) better and cheaper too.
But if you don't want to travel too far, if you pay a lot of attention to the location, if you eat for a large part with your eyes, this is a good venue for those who can afford somewhat higher prices.
