One of the best Italian restaurants in Chiang Mai offering much more than pizza and wine.

Much more than pizza and wine..

Though pretty petite, this is one of the better Italians in town. It's a narrow place very near to Taphae gate, easily overlooked, but if busy quickly full.
The pasta's I had here are usually al dente, which is so much better than the average over-cooked pasta's you get in places that don't appreciate the flavour of real pasta elsewhere in town.
The sauces are nice, especially the tomato-based sauces.
The menu is not huge, but what you get is generally nice.
Some dishes are rare to get elsewhere in Chiang Mai, such as Pappardelle and some main courses.
The place was started by a lady owner, Federica, but recently an Italian guy took over. Let's hope the quality remains the same.
Misleadingly, the name Pizza & Vino, would suggest only that, but it has much more to offer.

Location: moat, just off Taphae gate; coming from Taphae road, turn left onto the moat, it's a small place about 100m on your left
