Karsai (กระษัย1) is an ancient form of genital massage practice in Thailand for ages undocumented. It was mostly passed on orally from teacher to student by teaching and practicing without books, in a similar way as other forms of ancient Thai massage were passed on such as Tok Sen or Gua Sha. Much of what perhaps was documented in a distant past was probably lost during a great fire in the famous Wat Pho temple in Bangkok a few centuries ago.
Karsai is a therapeutic massage that is mainly focused on supporting and improving genital health but interestingly, it can also cure a lot of other issues that are not obviously related to the genital area such as head aches, sciatica, office syndrom and so on.
Karsai can be applied to both men and women (obviously with different techniques) but it is generally more popular with men than with women. This is probably because men tend to be more concerned with sexual performance than women and women tend to be more shy to enjoy this kind of service. However, women can have a lot of issues with their genitals that Karsai can treat so women should be equally interested in having Karsai massage.
Note that Karsai massage is not just a plain happy ending massage, it is not designed to be exciting or sexual, but most people feel aroused when touched in your genitals for a long time. There are various schools of though about ejaculation during Karsai, but most men ejaculate during the session and that's perfectly fine.
If you are not really interested in a therapeutic genital treatment, but instead it is the excitement and sensuality that you seek, then you should consider other treatments such as plain happy ending massage, a Lingam or Yoni massage (if you're a woman), or a body-to body-massage. If you're interested in a massage that pays a lot of attention to your genitals but you don't really need a Thai style therapeutic treatment, in particular a Lingam massage may give you a more suitable experience.

The main reason why you should have Karsai massage is of course to maintain or improve your genital health. Karsai can be tremendously helpful in treating all kinds of issues related to your genitals but also more, both for men and for women.
Common issues for men that may be treated with Karsai are:

You can either have a Karsai treatment to cure an existing issue or you can just have regular Karsai treatments to maintain your sexual health, both are perfectly fine and it is actually recommended to have Karsai treatment even if you don't have an issue. If you have an existing issue, keep in mind that you may need a few sessions to get a lasting result, although you may already notice a difference after the first session.
Typical effects that men experience after Karsai massage are: better erection, feeling more energized, better sexual performance, relief of pain, better prostatic function, less frequent urge of peeing, and so on.
If you think your genitals are in perfect health, it's also good to have Karsai because there may be issues that are still small and that you are unaware of. A trained Karsai therapist is able to identify such issues and treat them at an early stage.
For example, the last time I had Karsai, the therapist found some small fatty tissue in my scrotum that needed to be removed (naturally by massage). If such tissue is allowed to grow bigger, it could develop into a tumor. That's why I make it a habit to have Karsai at least once every few months, and if I have an issue, to have Karsai at least once every 1-2 months.
A great benefit of Karsai is that it is a natural, holistic treatment, void of Western medicine and without side effects.
To give you a personal example, a few years ago, my medical doctor diagnosed me with an enlarged prostate, also called benign prostate enlargement (BPE). He prescribed alpha blockers that I would have to take for my entire life (!), and if they wouldn't be effective enough, then surgery (with all kinds of possible side effects) was on the horizon. Instead, I chose to go the holistic way: herbal supplements, Kegel exercises, Karsai treatments, now and prostate massages and a lot more ejaculation and sex (every time with a new girl my conscience is soothed because it's "at doctor's orders"). After approximately 6 months, my prostate was much better. Keep squeezing it, was the advice of my doctor, so sex for life sounded a whole lot better to me than alpha blockers for life.
Karsai therapists see a lot of clients come and go with symptoms caused by an unbalanced life style, which they then tend to cure with medicine and things get worse and worse. For example, men who drink a lot and/or get obese risk having trouble to have an erection. Some men then 'solve' the problem by taking viagra and even get addicted to it. This then causes problems for heart and blood and then they need to take medicine to lower blood pressure. The circle never stops and it gets from bad to worse.
You can break this vicious circle by having Karsai treatments but obviously you also need to change your lifestyle.
That having said, you should always mention any issues confidentially to the therapist before the treatment, and in some cases you're better off with a medical doctor in the hospital. For example, if you suffer from prostatits (inflammation of the prostate), the prostate should NOT be massaged and you should consult with your medical doctor.
Possible beneficial effects of Karsai massage and prostate massage
Besides the health effects of Karsai, you can also consider it a local cultural experience, because Karsai is an authentically Thai indigenous ancient healing method. It is arguably more authentically Thai than drinking a cup of Starbucks coffee in town or having a regular oil massage. So while your girlfriend is having her solo time drinking that cup of coffee or having that oil massage, you can tell her that you're going to do something more local.
There are various schools of thought and practice about ejaculation during Karsai massage. The more serious schools won't let you ejaculate, either because they are too prudish or because they believe that ejaculation may lessen the therapeutic effect of the treatment.
Lanna style Karsai, for example, will allow for very minimal touching of the genitals, will always cover the genitals and won't let you ejaculate. In Tao Garden, the therapist will touch the genitals but for sure won't let you ejaculate because it will want to keep its image as a 'decent' place.
Most schools and places of practice, however, will allow for ejaculation or even encourage it. This is not just for pleasure or relief because you can't take it anymore, but in the first place for therapeutic reasons. For example, if the therapist has been working on your prostate, especially internally, it is good to ejaculate to let her check the substance of emission. There may be impurities in the prostate, and by checking the color, texture, smell and clarity of the sperm, conclusions can be drawn about the health of your prostate and sperm. In Chinese genital treatments according to Tradictional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this is the same: the therapist will let you ejaculate on purpose.
If you are suffering from premature ejaculation, there should be NO ejaculation during or a few hours after the Karsai treatment.
Karsai massage is an ancient form of genital massage practiced in Thailand, however it is connected to various other sources of practice and medical wisdom around Thailand throughout the ages, in particular India and China. In this way, Thai Karsai is also connected with India's and China's vast health sciences. In every good Karsai massage, for example, there should be a thorough portion of abdominal massage first, because the energy of the genitals is drawn from the abdominal organs. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this is called Chi Nei Tsang.

There are quite a few main schools of thought and practice of Karsai in Thailand. One of the main recent protagonists of Karsai is master Dr. Saranya Konjak who not only led P&T Center in Pathum Thani but also took positions in the government's health departments. Originally from Chiang Mai, Ms. Saranya Konjak gathered her knowledge and practice from various places, including Malaysia, and merged it into her style naming it Karsai of the Four Sciences (กระษัย 4 ศาสตร์). These four sciences are then: Thailand, India, China and the West.
Many students of Karsai in Thailand studied with her and she did leave her marks, but unfortunately she left to Malaysia. In her place there are still good teachers who teach in what I call the Pathum Thani style of Karsai, such as Khru See in Bangkok, who used to be an assistant teacher in P&T Center.

Another influence in the world of Karsai is Mantak Chia based in Tao Garden in Doi Saket, near Chiang Mai. Mantak Chia is a well-known protagonist of Taoist health systems, including genital massage and sexual health that he structured into Healing Tao. Healing Tao has been very successful in promoting and commercializing the practice of sexual health all over the world. This is not to say Healing Tao is the inventor of it, as some people like to believe, rather it served as a major catalyst that integrated, structured and especially commercialized various practices. Chi Nei Tsang is an integral part of Healing Tao and of Karsai, that he named Karsai Nei Tsang.
Tao Garden is quite expensive, as it's an exclusive spa resort, but you can enjoy this style more affordably by going to practitioners who were trained at Tao Garden, such as Ong Massage School, where you can learn and enjoy Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai treatments at much lower rates, while the experience of the practioners is still vast.
Note that the Tao Garden style does not allow ejaculation and does not do internal prostate massage.
Another, completely different school of Karsai and healing is by master Mae Kae in Bangkok, who teaches under the Auksika Wellness School & Granny Wisdom Center in Bangkok. This is a very authentic, indigenous type of healing that was passed on for a long time from teacher to student without books. It is only now, in this era of internet and modern ways of sharing information, that master Mae Kae is putting things to paper to have it recognized by the Thai government.
Auksika's style of Karsai is based on massaging with a clear mind to give healing energy to the client and absorb bad energy. Also, it uses a lot of herbal treatments. Master Mae Kae's style does not press very hard, rather it uses the mind perhaps more than the hands, so it may feel less effective or less direct at first.
Master Mae Kae is a wonderfully passionate woman and takes a lot of time for treatments, which are not so cheap though. Ejaculation is not aimed for in this style but master Mae Kae does do internal prostate massage.
Another indigenous style to the North of Thailand is Lanna style Karsai, nowadays taught by master Mae Miaew in Phayao, June. This is a true local Northern Thai style Karsai that mainly works by pressing (hard) on pressure points and energy lines. In essence it feels like a Thai massage but there is emphasis on other energy lines and points than in a standard Thai massage. This Lanna style treatment starts with a decent portion of abdominal massage (similar to Chi Nei Tsang, but different) and then focuses on energy lines that are connected to the pelvic and genital area, however a lot of the pressure points are actually not in that area so the genitals are hardly touched. Also, in Lanna style Karsai treatment, the body is covered with a towel or clothes so that normal Thai massage pressure can be exerted (in the same way Thai massage clothes help absorb pressure in a regular Thai massage).

Internal prostate massage is not done in Lanna style Karsai, instead there are energy points on the back of the body away from the genitals that are triggered.
All of this leads to this type of Karsai treatment generally being experienced as rather a-sexual and hardly arousing, so if the fun / excitement part of Karsai is a main reason why you want to try it, this style may be less suitable for you. Of course, the masseuse can add an element of play or sensual pleasure into the treatment, but it's just not built into the structure of the treatment so it may feel less natural to have that element of excitement added separately.
From a health perspective, Lanna style Karsai can be just as effective as any other style but you need to give it some time or at least have a few treatments.

There are many Karsai providers in Thailand and even abroad. How to select a good one, and how to find the best ones?
Having been to many Karsai places, in my experience the following factors determine which place offers good Karsai massages and which one not:
There are a lot of misbeliefs and misconceptions about what makes a good Karsai therapist, and they are often based on superficial things or appearance. For example, it is a common idea especially amongst (mainland) Chinese, that the best Karsai therapist should be somebody aged at least 40 or 50 up, a bit fat and looking like an auntie. That's just not true. Just because somebody is 40 or 50 doesn't mean she has a lot of experience, often these are masseuses with perhaps one or two decades of general massage experience but with limited Karsai experience and knowledge and who didn't really learn from a master teacher.
To think that a younger pretty lady can't do a good Karsai massage is just as superficial as to think that a 50 year old auntie can do better. What matters are the factors above, and if the younger lady is committed and had all the training and assistance, I guarantee you that she's better.
Besides these factors, in my opinion a few other things help to have a great Karsai massage, but it may not be the same for everybody:
6. The best Karsai massages include an internal prostate massage. The prostate is an incredibly important sexual organ for men, and gets more and more important as men age. A Karsai massage that neglects the prostate misses one of the most important problem areas for men. Of course the prostate can also be massaged externally, but these methods are less direct, and usually less effective. Some Karsai schools refrain from internal prostate massage (putting a finger through the asshole), because in the past it was considered unhygienic and it was feared that germs could be brought into the body. But nowadays, with disposable latex gloves and alcohol, that's not a concern anymore.
Besides the benefit of more direct healing of the prostate when going internal, internal prostate massage can also feel very pleasant.

7. Last but not least, combining the necessary with the pleasant is another reason to choose one therapist over another: if you can have the same quality treatment done by a beautiful young lady or by an old auntie, I will choose the young lady. It's great to be serious about your health, but it's even better to enjoy the treatment in each and every way and make yourself happy.
Based on this and my experience, my favorite places for Karsai in Thailand are:
At this moment, All about Touch Massage is no doubt the best center for Karsai massage in Chiang Mai. All of its staff doing Karsai have done a proper training with a teacher or master teacher, not just colleage-teaches-tricks-to-colleague kind of training. Besides that, the masseuses doing Karsai have been trained in different schools, in fact all of the main schools listed above are all represented in All about Touch. This means that All about Touch probably offers the highest concentration of Karsai knowledge in Chiang Mai with the greatest variety of styles.
For example, Ms. Yuyie has been trained with techniques from the Pathum Thani school, she did a full Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai course with Ong Massage school and she did an advanced Karsai course with Auksika Healing School in Bangkok. There aren't many massage therapists in Chiang Mai who can match the hours and money invested in Karsai training of Ms. Yuyie, the only thing that will add greatly to her skills is getting more years of experience and she's doing that, but the commitment to healing is there. Ms. Yuyie has a great talent for healing massages, though, so she's well on her way.
Ms. Sky did a Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai course at Ong Massage school. Ms. Nadear did trainings with teacher See in Bangkok and Lanna style Karsai with master teacher Mae Miaew. And so on.

This is a small but excellent shop based in Bangkok, about half an hour from the city center. All staff are good here, and supposedly the owner Ms. Nana is every better (and more expensive). The therapists here are all over 40 and have a lot of experience doing nothing but genital massage. Some of the therapists have had several thousands of customers (!), it's hard to beat that. Every time I go here, it feels good and smooth and thorough no matter which therapist is assigned to you.
The only pity here is of course that there are no younger girls to make the Karsai treatment a bit more fun, but if you do have a problem, I recommend going here.

Daisuki by Lolita Massage has a fair number of Karsai massage therapists, some of them trained at the main Karsai schools in Thailand and some of them are also trained in Chi Nei Tsang. Most of the masseuses are quite experienced and generally have good massage skills.

4. ONG MASSAGE SCHOOL
You will get a thorough and good quality Karsai treatment here in the Healing Tao style. There is always a good Chi Nei Tsang treatment too. The only pity here is that the therapeutic treatment is not combined with something fun and pleasant.

Several of the masseuses of Senz~ Diva Massage have invested in a proper Chi Nei Tsang training with Ong Massage School, which gives them a proper basis for Karsai. Unfortunately, not many masseuses here studied at the main schools or directly from master teachers. As for Karsai specific skills and knowledge, it's mainly Pathum Thani syle and the masseuses would benefit from further learning.

Headed by master Banjong Pun or better-known as khun Ni, this is both a clinic and a school. Khun Ni, probably over 60 now, is well-skilled in the art of healing. Her treatment will typically start with an extensive abdominal massage (Chi Nei Tsang) that is good for the health of your internal organs, before doing a relatively short (5-10min) Karsai treatment. Every touch of khun Ni is well-measured, on the spot and has healing qualities, but some customers will be disappointed that the overall treatment is relatively short (maximum one hour) and that the Karsai part is even shorter. There will be some pain, which is healing pain.
Typically, customers who feel attracted to Khun Ni's treatment are more the health-conscious and spiritual type, rather than the gentleman who wants to combine the necessary with the pleasant.
With a drive well out of town (at least 45 min out and 45 min to come back), and at THB 3,000 for an hour treatment, this may not be everybody's first choice, though.
Another thing missing from khun Ni's treatment is that her prostate massage is external, while the more effective and more pleasant one is internal.
Karsai massage without happy ending (if desired): THB 3,000 for 1.5 hours
Authentic massage school that offers solid massage courses and also Karsai treatments. Despite its location in the center of Loikroh, this is a serious school, so expect no hanky panky or a little fun but instead a hard-working massage. Karsai is given and taught here in Tao Garden style. Karsai bookings must be booked well in advance due to a full teaching schedule and there is not always a female therapist available (the main teacher also teaches in France during parts of the year). You could book a male teacher to work on your genitals but most straight men would find that an unnecessary torture. Karsai treatments are not that cheap and the school will probably recommend you to take a few sessions.
Tao Garden is one of the most famous health resorts in Thailand and having played a role to spread Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai to the world, they can't be skipped on any list. Yet, it's not my favourite, mostly because the resort breathes an atmosphere of semi-spirituality that is contaminated with commercialism. More than being a real spiritual center, Tao Garden has been and is a powerful machine to convert body and mind work practices to a system that can be commercialised.
The Karsai treatment you can good but there is a lot of emphasis on the Chi Nei Tsang and much less on Karsai. With THB 3,000 for a treatment of an hour, it's not that cheap. Besides that, it's a a drive well out of town and the treatment lacks an internal prostate massage.

Even in some regular massage shops that don't advertise it around, some staff may occasionally offer you "Karsai". Most of the time, this is because the lady learned a few tricks and tries to sell that as Karsai, aiming at getting some more money, but it's not a complete and proper Karsai treatment. Once in a while you may come across somebody who actually does have some good feeling in her fingers and is able to pull some good strings down there, but most of the time, her knowledge will be fragmented and limited. Some people swear by secret aunties working in a hidden soi somewhere, but when asked refuse to share that with me. I call them aunties because they would typically be plumb, 40 or 50+ and not pretty.
The ones that I have tried master only variable skills and have nearly no knowledge, they are mostly self-taught. Moreover, nowadays news travels fast and that hidden-soi-auntie, if she exists, would quickly become very popular. At the same time, it's good to have some system of learning and management in place, so that's why overall, anonymous aunties are not on the top of my list.
WARNING
Many businesses use the word 'Karsai' but in fact mean HJ and you should stay far away from them. To perform a proper Karsai treatment, staff need to be thoroughly trained.
It's not so harmful if a business abuses the word 'Karsai' to let the therapist play with your balls and then give you a HJ, although that's of course not a real Karsai massage. You can find this kind of treatment in shops like Aloha Massage and Mokaru Spa.
However, it can be very damaging to your health if the masseuse claims to be an expert, and performs real treatment on your genitals but does it the wrong way. You should be very careful with this.
Before every Karsai treatment, be open with the therapist what your problems are, if any, or what you want to get out of it. If the shop has Karsai therapists trained in varying styles, it's even better to share some of your needs with the receptionist so that the most suitable one can be assigned to you. For example, some men are uncomfortable with internal prostate massage, perhaps because of the idea of 'being penetrated by a girl from the back' or because they consider the asshole a dirty place. Realize, however, that more points can be reached with internal prostate massage (even points and nerves relating to office syndrome and sciatica).
Then, some men don't want the treatment to be painful at all, even though a bit of pain or sensitivity is necessary to clear a blockage. If your main purpose is to have some fun or excitement, perhaps another treatment is more suitable for you. Karsai is in the first place a therapeutical treatment for your genital health.
If you're on a holiday in Chiang Mai, plan enough time if you think you may need several Karsai sessions. There should be minimum about 3 days between each session. Some symptoms can be treated and cured in one session, others may take three or more sessions.
As a preparation before taking a Karsai treatment, the last meal must have been finished at least 1-2 hours before, because in a good Karsai treatment there are some pressure points in the belly area and in general an active digestive system 'interferes' with any type massage treatment. Also, make sure to empty your rectum and clean your ass for hygienic purpose.
Finally, if there is a lush bush of hair around your genitals, you may consider cutting some pubic hair before your Karsai massage so that the practitioner does not accidentally rub your hairs. A 'normal' amount of pubic hair is not a problem.
Karsai is an authentic ancient treatment method that is very local to Thailand. As such, it would deserve full support from the Thai government and be promoted all over the world. Sadly, the prudish Thai government does the exact opposite: it suppresses Karsai in each and every way: Karsai is not recognized officially as a healing method and there are no official standards for skills, like there are for regular Thai massage. This is why it is very hard to find official certificates about Karsai. Some of the Karsai scene therefore goes underground to avoid problems with the authorities. This then opens up the opportunity for untrained, fake Karsai therapists to emerge and flourish.
1. Karsai spelling: As many words in Thai, there is no consistent spelling or phrasing of the word Karsai, so it is sometimes spelled as กระษัย, sometimes as กษัย and in other ways. The same in English: kasai, kra sai, jab kasai, karsai nei tsang, etc.

By doing them both you hit all the genital spots that one of them would miss. For Karsai, when they ask if you want to cum, I find that it's best to say yes. It makes the massage more pleasurable, which is better for the prostate portion and you can call it off in the end if you don't want it. It's not hard to control ejaculation during the massage and it wasn't very painful either. Most important thing is to control your mind and not allow yourself to fantasize. |
